The Monarch NECTAR Hub is Monarch Joint Venture's online learning platform, designed to connect educators, land managers, gardeners, conservation enthusiasts, students, and everyone in between with expert-led courses on monarch biology, habitat, and conservation. Ready to get started? Here's how.

1. Choose Your Course

The first step is finding the course that fits your schedule and learning style. The NECTAR Hub offers three formats to meet you where you are:

📚Self-Paced: Work through course materials entirely on your own schedule. There are no set meeting times. Perfect for busy professionals or those who prefer to learn at their own pace.

💬Self-Paced with Live Office Hours (Instructor Supported): Enjoy the flexibility of self-paced content with the bonus of scheduled live sessions where you can connect directly with MJV staff, ask questions, and dig deeper into the material. These classes are also time-bound to help you get the course done in a timely manner.

📅Live Single-Day Courses: Focused, real-time courses held on a specific date on Zoom. Great for learners who thrive in a structured, instructor-led environment and want an immersive experience in one sitting.

2. Complete Registration

Once you've found your course, it's time to sign up. Here are directions on how to register:

1. Create or Log In to Your Account: If you're new to the NECTAR Hub, you'll be prompted to create a free account using your email address. If you've enrolled in a course before, simply log in with your existing credentials.
2. Select Your Course and Enroll: Navigate to the course page and click the enrollment button. Some courses are free; others may have a registration fee. You'll be guided through any payment steps if applicable.
3. Confirm Your Enrollment: You'll receive a confirmation email once registration is complete. Hold onto this as it will include any important details about course start dates, live session links, or additional materials.
4. Check Your Inbox: Keep an eye out for follow-up emails from MJV as your course start date approaches, especially if you've enrolled in a live or office-hours format. Add the sender(learn@monarchjointventure.org) to your contacts so nothing ends up in spam.

No matter which format you choose, every NECTAR Hub course includes at least one live component where you can connect with MJV staff in real time. While the instructor-supported courses offer their own office hours, all participants are invited to monthly Hub live Q&A sessions. These sessions are a fantastic opportunity to ask questions, share your experiences, and get direct guidance from the team working on monarch conservation every day. Don't skip them!
